I’m a mother of two teenage girls and a bookkeeper by profession. I started making soap as a hobby about four years ago. After a couple of batches I was totally hooked. Little did I know that this hobby of mine would turn into a business. The first year was mostly a learning experience. I read everything I could get my hands on about soap and watched hundreds of videos on youtube. By the second year I had quite a few batches of soaps under my belt and started experimenting with different recipes. I was having so much fun I didn’t realize how much soap I had accumulated around the house! I started to give away the soaps to friends and family and I was pleasantly surprised by the positive reaction I got from everyone. They all loved my soaps!! So slowly I started selling my soaps at school fundraisers and soap parties. Now I’m at a stage that I either have to expand my business or go back to doing it as a hobby. I’ve decided to expand! It’s scary and exciting at the same time. This site will chronicle my soap making adventures and my efforts in expanding the business. So please check back occasionally to find out what I’m up to.
My husband quoted a famous line to encourage me to start my business. He said
A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step
So here I am, taking my first step.
